We are grateful you have chosen to connect with us through this space.

The Sacred Energy of the Mountains

The Scottish Highlands have long been revered as places of ancient wisdom and healing. Their vast, untamed beauty stirs the soul and quiets the mind. At CAIM, we honour these landscapes as teachers. Our Mountain Medicine gatherings offer a unique opportunity to experience the healing power of nature while walking side by side with community.

Pilgrimages into presence, reflection and connection.

What Is Mountain Medicine?

Mountain Medicine is CAIM’s free community focused wellness hiking initiative, running monthly from May through September (usually). Each gathering takes us to a new peak - a Munro or Corbett - where we journey together into the heart of Scottish Highlands hikes. Whether you're a seasoned Munro bagger or a first-time hiker, this offering is open to all skill levels. Our intention is simple: to reconnect people with nature, their breath and each other.

The Healing Power of Scotland’s Mountains

To move through vast Highland landscapes is to remember something ancient within yourself. As we ascend, the rhythm of walking, the coolness of the air and the quiet majesty of the hills work together to calm the nervous system, awaken the senses and open the heart. This is healing in the great outdoors of Scotland, nature offering her medicine freely, reminding us what truly restores us.

Mountains remind us of our strength and humility. They mirror back where we’re holding tension and where we’ve let go. For many, these journeys offer clarity, perspective and even emotional release. The Scottish Highlands don’t just challenge the body - they restore the soul. This is the essence of mountain wellness retreats, where nature becomes the healer.

What to Expect on a Mountain Medicine Gathering

  • Guided group hikes in stunning natural locations

  • Welcoming atmosphere with accessibility for a variety of fitness and experience levels, we will always share the ‘difficulty’ level in advance so you can make an informed decision for your body

  • Monthly exploration of a different Munro or Corbett around Scotland

  • Opportunities for mindful reflection and nature connection

  • Support at the peaks and troughs - moments of joy, insight and shared silence

These hikes are not performance-based, they are about presence and support, offering a powerful form of wellness through hiking in the wild landscapes of Scotland.

The Spirit of Community

Mountain Medicine is a space where connection happens organically. Sharing the path with others creates bonds built on shared effort, encouragement and vulnerability. It’s not about being part of a strict munro bagging community where we are purely focused on getting to the top to tick another off our list. It is recognising that the true summit is not just the mountain top but the sense of unity that forms along the way.

These are free community gatherings across Scotland, woven with laughter, stories and heartfelt support. You don’t have to walk alone. We walk as one.
